Hymn composed by
TraditionalContextual information
These new lyrics for “Bright Morning Stars” are set to a different version of the traditional melody. The lyrics are meant to capture the spirit of greeting the rising sun with the conviction of faith. The melody is, I’ve been told, an alternative traditional melody to the song. Although I’ve found recordings that are similar, I haven't yet found one that uses this melody exactly. A version of this song is being published on Sanctuary Boston’s 2025 album.

Lyrics
(Chorus)
Bright morning stars a risin', bright morning stars a rissin', bright morning stars a risin', Day is a breakin' in my soul.
Rise up from morning slumber, rise up from morning slumber rise up from morning slumber,
Rise up and hear your calling, rise up and hear your calling, rise up and hear your calling,
Oh, lift your voice to heaven, oh, lift your voice to heaven, oh lift your voice to heaven,
We'll build this faith together, we'll build this faith together, we'll build this faith together,
*Additional verses include, but are not limited to:
We'll sing out loud for justice
We'll raise a mighty chorus
In faith we'll grow together
